Baby-Boomers Live Abroad in Korea To Save Money For seclusion

Are you over 50 and asking yourself, "When can I afford to retire?" Or have you been laid off after age 50 and have to rethink your financial plans?

An American combine chose Korea as the country where they can have an enjoyable lifestyle while recovery thousands of dollars a month for their retirement. They live well, take a lot of vacations, and their foreign condition guarnatee cost them less than a month.

When a lay-off at age 53 threatened his relinquishment strategy, a Washington State man, Bob Roland, got his certificate for teaching English to students of other languages (Tesol), and he and his wife, Eileen Dunn, moved to South Korea in 2006 to take a temporary assignment teaching English for the public school system.

Rowland and Dunn are both very educated and had good paying jobs in the States. But they weren't able to save because, "we both had cars, and the guarnatee along with condition guarnatee is huge in the States," said Dunn, "as everyone knows."

In Korea they have no car expenses and the apartment is given to them by the City. "We just pay cable, internet and utilities", she said, "and all of it is very cheap. "We feel so safe here," said Dunn, "I walk over town at night to tutor some girls. I walk home straight through parks, straight through unlit parking lots, and I feel perfectly safe."

Foreign healthcare guarnatee in Korea costs them each less than a month. "We get perfect care, "said Dunn, "And I've never had to wait over five minutes to see my doctor."

"Every three months I send 10 million won (over ,000) back to the States to invest," says Dunn, "that's how much we save by working and living abroad."

They live well in Korea. They have friends and are an active part of their community. And here's a serendipity that I wouldn't have imagined; More vacation time. "We live off of Bob's check, and we travel off of Bob's check," said Dunn, "and we go everywhere. We've traveled all over South Korea, we've been to North Korea, Africa, Malaysia, Brunei, Guam, and we've been to Japan twice.
